What does this sign mean?
A warning sign telling the driver that a side road joins from one side ahead, so speed should be reduced and vehicles emerging from that entry expected. The pictogram shows a main road with a branch leaving it.
Where does it go and when is it required?
Used ahead of side aisle entries in car parks, residential compounds and malls, and before warehouse exits, loading areas and construction site accesses that join the main circulation route. This version is intended for private and internal roads; signs on public roads must be installed by the municipality or the competent roads authority.
Regulation notes: Signage on public roads in Saudi Arabia and the UAE is the responsibility of the municipality or the competent roads authority, and must follow the GCC traffic sign manual for shape, colour and size. These files are intended for private property, car parks and temporary site use, and are not a substitute for official road signs.
- Mount it on a post with the bottom edge 2.0–2.5 m above the road surface, far enough ahead of the merge point.
- A3 is the practical choice for internal roads and entrances; A4 is enough for short aisles and covered car parks.
- Print on reflective stock or mount it on reflective tape so the symbol stays visible at night under headlights.
