staff only sign
A sign that politely tells customers that the area behind this door is a working space for staff, without the stern prohibition tone of the standard No Entry sign. It suits doors that customers pass every day in shops and restaurants.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Fixed on the doors of stockrooms, prep rooms, kitchens, admin offices and staff rest rooms in shops, restaurants, cafés and pharmacies, and on side doors separating the customer area from the back of house. It protects stock and equipment and stops people wandering in while looking for the restroom.
- Fix it on the door leaf itself at eye level (1.5–1.7 m), not on the adjacent wall.
- A5 is enough for narrow internal doors; use A4 on stockroom and kitchen doors.
- Keep Arabic above English, and use the standard No Entry sign instead on electrical rooms and hazard areas that Civil Defense inspects.
Size guide
Choose the size from the maximum distance the sign must be read from (ISO 3864-1 guidance).
Print tip: use card stock or mount on foam board/acrylic, and print the PDF at 100% (not “fit to page”).
