wear protective clothing sign
A mandatory (blue) sign requiring protective clothing — a full suit, coverall or resistant apron — before work begins. The solid blue circle with a white symbol is the ISO 7010 mandatory shape: an instruction to act, not a hazard warning, and M010 shows a work suit covering the whole body.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Required in paint spraying and foam insulation areas, in chemistry laboratories and pesticide mixing rooms, on coating and smelting lines in factories, in caustic cleaning areas and water treatment plants, and in hotel kitchens and butchery halls where each production zone has its own dedicated clothing.
Regulation notes
Civil Defense and occupational safety authorities in Saudi Arabia and the UAE expect PPE mandatory signage at the entrances to areas where skin and clothing are exposed to hazardous substances, as a condition of operating licences. In the UAE, practice under the OSHAD Code of Practice 17.0 is for Arabic to sit above English on safety signs.
- Mount at the changing room door or the area entrance at eye level (1.5–1.7 m) — before the point where the suit is put on, not after it.
- A4 on changing room and laboratory doors; A3 at the entrances to production halls and spray areas.
- State the suit type and protection level in the organisation band, and allow for Gulf heat: schedule breaks and water, because a sealed coverall raises heat stress fast.
