What does this sign mean?
A sign for the men’s wudu area, kept distinct from the women’s — a separation any masjid needs when both share one building or sit on two floors. The pictogram of a seated man washing under a tap carries the meaning whatever language the visitor reads.
Where does it go and when is it required?
Above the men’s wudu-room door, at the fork where the men’s and women’s routes separate, and at the entrance the men use. Where the women’s facilities are on another floor, repeat it at the stairs and the lift.
- Mount at 1.8–2.0 m above the door, and add an arrow to any copy that is not at the door itself.
- A4 is enough above the door; use A3 at the corridor fork and the main entrance.
- Print the women’s sign at the same time — the separation does not work with only one of the pair up.
