men's prayer hall sign
A direction sign identifying the main men’s prayer hall and its entrance, most useful in buildings with more than one hall or prayer room so visitors do not walk into the wrong one. Its design matches the Women’s Prayer Hall sign so both are recognised at a glance.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Mounted above the main entrance to the men’s hall and on the doors of any extra halls (upper floor, winter hall), and in Islamic centres, schools and hospitals where men’s and women’s prayer rooms sit next to classrooms and offices. It also goes at the courtyard entrance with an arrow, separating the men’s route from the women’s.
- Mount at 1.8–2.0 m above the door, and at 2.0–2.2 m in the courtyard and car park.
- Use A3 for main entrances and courtyards, A4 for internal hall doors.
- In prayer rooms inside schools and community centres in the West, make 'Prayer Room' prominent; many users look for that term rather than 'musalla'.
