A direction sign for the mosque toilets, kept clearly separate from the wudu area because the two are easily confused where they share one building. The generic man-and-woman pictogram is understood by visitors of every background.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Mounted above the restroom door and along the route from the courtyard and car park, and next to the Wudu Area sign at the point where the two routes split. It matters most in large jami masajid, highway mosques and rest stops, where travellers and non-worshippers also stop.
- Mount at 1.8–2.0 m above the door, and add an arrowed copy at the courtyard entrance.
- A4 is enough on the door; use A3 for signs read from the car park or the highway approach.
- If the women’s restrooms are on a different side, print two copies and add 'Men' or 'Women' under the sign instead of relying on the pictogram alone.
