cashier sign
A sign marking the payment point so customers can spot it from any corner of the shop and head straight to it once they have chosen, instead of wandering around looking for the till or queuing in the wrong place.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Hung above the payment counter in shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, hardware stores and furniture showrooms, and at every payment point where there is more than one cashier. It matters most in large stores and showrooms where the till is not visible from the door, and it keeps queues orderly in peak seasons.
- Hang it from the ceiling or fix it to the wall behind the till at 2.0–2.2 m so it shows above the shelving.
- A4 is enough for small shops; use A3 in supermarkets and showrooms with long aisles.
- Keep Arabic above English, and number the signs (Cashier 1, 2…) in the business-name band if you have several payment points.
