A sign marking where the queue starts and which way it runs, so every customer takes their turn without crowding the till or the ordering point, and nobody argues about who came first.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Placed at the head of the queue in front of the till in supermarkets, pharmacies and bakeries, at ordering points in quick-service restaurants and cafés, and at service windows in telecom, post and service centres. It is needed most in peak seasons, Ramadan and Eid, and when a new branch opens.
- Mount on a floor stand or barrier post at 1.2–1.4 m at the starting point, with an arrow showing the direction, or add a floor sticker.
- A4 is enough for a floor stand; use A3 when it hangs from the ceiling above the queue in large stores.
- Keep Arabic above English, and add 'Please wait your turn' in the business-name band if the line gets long.
