free wifi sign
A sign that tells customers the Wi-Fi is free and lets them connect by scanning one QR code with their phone camera instead of asking staff for the password and typing it in letter by letter. Where is it used and when is it required?
Placed on tables in an acrylic holder, at the till and next to the entrance in cafés, restaurants, clinic and salon waiting areas and car-rental offices; it is one of the premium touches that sets a neighbourhood café apart. When you change the password, re-enter it and print a fresh copy in a minute.
- Put it in a table holder at seated height, or stick it to the wall at 1.2–1.5 m so a phone camera can be pointed at the code comfortably.
- A5 is enough on tables; use A4 at the till and entrance, and never go below A6 or the code becomes hard to scan.
- Keep Arabic above English, and print the network name in plain text under the code for anyone who prefers to connect manually.

Choose the size from the maximum distance the sign must be read from (ISO 3864-1 guidance).
