assembly point sign
A safe-condition (green) sign marking the spot where staff and visitors gather after evacuating, so a fire warden can take a head count and confirm nobody is left inside. The pictogram shows a group of people with four arrows converging on them.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Mounted outdoors in a courtyard or car park, a safe distance from the building and clear of fire-engine access. Civil Defense expects the location to appear in the evacuation plan of shops, offices, schools and warehouses.
Regulation notes
Civil Defense in Saudi Arabia and the UAE expects the assembly point to be marked on the approved evacuation plan before a safety licence is issued or renewed. In the UAE, OSHAD Code of Practice 17.0 requires Arabic to appear above English on safety signs, which is how this sign is laid out.
- Fix it to a post or outside wall at 2.0–2.5 m so it can be seen from a distance and over parked cars.
- Use A3 or larger, ideally printed on aluminium or acrylic to survive sun and rain.
- If you have several assembly points, number them (Assembly Point 1, 2...) and match the numbers on the evacuation maps posted inside.
