doctor sign
A safe-condition (green) sign showing that a doctor or clinic is available on site, so an injured person or a colleague knows immediately where to head. Green is the ISO 7010 safe-condition colour; the pictogram shows the rod of Asclepius, a staff with a snake coiled around it.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Placed on the door of the clinic or doctor's room in factories, construction sites, large corporate premises, schools and malls, and at the reception desk that directs visitors there. Occupational-safety rules expect larger workforces to have a medical service whose location is clearly signed.
Regulation notes
Civil Defense and occupational-safety rules in Saudi Arabia and the UAE tie the level of medical provision to the size of the premises and headcount, and a signed clinic or doctor's room is expected at the licensing review. In the UAE, OSHAD Code of Practice 17.0 requires Arabic to appear above English on safety signs.
- Mount at 1.5–1.8 m beside the door on the handle side, or above the door in busy corridors.
- A4 suits doors and internal corridors; use A3 at building entrances and in production halls.
- Add the doctor's extension and consulting hours in the organisation band at the foot of the sign.
