stretcher sign
A safe-condition (green) sign marking where a stretcher is kept for moving a casualty who cannot walk to an assembly point or a waiting ambulance. Green is the ISO 7010 safe-condition colour; the pictogram shows a person lying on a stretcher.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Mounted at the stretcher cabinet or wall bracket in factories, construction sites, warehouses, first-aid rooms, sports halls and schools, and along the route to the ambulance access point. Keep the stretcher near the first-aid room or an exit wide enough for two bearers without tight turns.
Regulation notes
Civil Defense and occupational-safety requirements in Saudi Arabia and the UAE expect industrial premises and construction sites to hold a signed casualty-evacuation means as part of the emergency plan reviewed at licensing. In the UAE, OSHAD Code of Practice 17.0 requires Arabic to appear above English on safety signs.
- Mount at 1.8–2.0 m above the stretcher bracket or cabinet.
- A4 suits corridors and first-aid rooms; use A3 in production halls and on construction sites.
- Fix it directly above the stretcher, and check the route to the nearest exit is wide enough for two bearers side by side.
