flammable material sign
A warning (yellow) sign alerting people to flammable liquids, gases or solids and to the ban on any flame or spark in the area. The yellow triangle with a black border is the ISO 7010 warning shape; the pictogram is a flame above a horizontal line.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Fixed to the doors of paint, solvent and thinner stores, diesel and fuel tanks, LPG cylinder cages, generator rooms, carpentry workshops and flammable-liquid cabinets inside warehouses and factories. Civil Defense expects it wherever a shop or facility keeps commercial quantities of these materials.
Regulation notes
Civil Defense inspectors in Saudi Arabia and the UAE check for warning signage on flammable liquid and gas stores as part of the fire-prevention requirements for an operating licence. In the UAE, the OSHAD Code of Practice 17.0 requires Arabic to sit above English on safety signs.
- Fix it to the store door or to the flammable-liquid cabinet door at eye level (1.5–1.7 m).
- A4 suits cabinets and internal doors; use A3 for store doors and outdoor cylinder cages.
- Pair it with a No Smoking sign in the same location — the warning alone does not remove the ignition source.
