guard dog sign
A warning (yellow) sign alerting people that a guard dog is kept on site and that approaching or entering without prior arrangement is dangerous. The yellow triangle with a black border is the ISO 7010 warning shape; the pictogram is a dog's head in profile.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Fixed to the fences and gates of secured yards, the perimeter of construction sites and equipment laydown areas, warehouse and compound doors patrolled by dogs at night, and on farms, livestock pens and heavy-equipment workshops. Put one at every entry point a visitor or supplier could approach.
Regulation notes
Municipalities and safety authorities in Saudi Arabia and the UAE expect visitors and workers to be warned where guard dogs are kept and the dogs' access to work areas controlled as part of the site security arrangements reviewed during inspections. In the UAE, the OSHAD Code of Practice 17.0 requires Arabic to sit above English on safety signs.
- Fix it to the gate or fence at every entrance at eye level (1.5–1.7 m) so it is read before the gate is opened.
- Use A3 on external gates and long fence lines; A4 is enough on side and service doors.
- Print the responsible guard's phone number in the organisation band so drivers and suppliers can call before entering.
