strong magnetic field sign
A warning (yellow) sign alerting people to a strong magnetic field that can pull metal tools violently and disturb pacemakers, watches and magnetic cards. The yellow triangle with a black border is the ISO 7010 warning shape; the pictogram is a horseshoe magnet with field lines.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Fixed to MRI room doors in hospitals and imaging centres, at magnetic separators and sorting belts in factories and recycling plants, at lifting magnets in scrapyards and workshops, and in spectroscopy laboratories and transformer test rooms.
Regulation notes
Health and occupational-safety authorities in Saudi Arabia and the UAE expect the magnetic field boundary to be marked with warning signage and access to the controlled zone restricted as part of medical and industrial facility operating conditions. In the UAE, the OSHAD Code of Practice 17.0 requires Arabic to sit above English on safety signs.
- Fix it to the room door and at the boundary of the magnetic zone at eye level (1.5–1.7 m).
- Use A3 on MRI room doors and lifting-magnet zone boundaries; A4 is enough inside corridors.
- Add a note barring pacemaker wearers and ferrous tools — the field stays on even when the machine is not scanning.

Choose the size from the maximum distance the sign must be read from (ISO 3864-1 guidance).
