non-ionizing radiation sign
A warning (yellow) sign alerting people to non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation (radio-frequency or microwave energy) that can heat tissue or interfere with implanted medical devices. The yellow triangle with a black border is the ISO 7010 warning shape; the pictogram shows waves radiating from a point.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Fixed at telecom antennas and cellular base stations on rooftops, around radar equipment, in front of industrial microwave and RF heating equipment, at induction furnaces and high-frequency plastic-welding machines, and on transmitter room doors.
Regulation notes
Telecom regulators and occupational-safety authorities in Saudi Arabia and the UAE expect warning signage at antenna sites and RF sources, with safe working distances defined before anyone climbs to work. In the UAE, the OSHAD Code of Practice 17.0 requires Arabic to sit above English on safety signs.
- Fix it at the roof access door or the ladder leading to the antenna at eye level (1.5–1.7 m), not behind the antenna.
- Use A3 for exposed rooftop antenna sites; A4 suits equipment covers and transmitter room doors.
- Print on UV-resistant stock — colours on exposed Gulf rooftops fade within a single season.
