Where is it used and when is it required?
Mounted at the entrances to fuel stations, refuelling areas, flammable-material stores and blasting sites, and at intensive-care units, medical imaging rooms, laboratories with sensitive instruments and server rooms. Place it at the point of entry, before anyone starts work inside the area.
Regulation notes
Civil Defense and occupational-safety requirements in Saudi Arabia and the UAE require ignition sources to be controlled in hazardous-material areas, which includes barring non-approved electronic devices and signing the restriction at entrances. In the UAE, OSHAD Code of Practice 17.0 requires Arabic to appear above English on safety signs.
- Mount at 1.5–1.7 m, at eye level on the gate or door.
- A4 suits entrances and corridors; use A3 at fuel-station gates and outdoor yards.
- Spell out in the organisation band that the phone must be switched off, not silenced, silent mode does not stop it transmitting.
