What does this sign mean?
A prohibition sign telling drivers that parking is not allowed here. The red circle with a diagonal bar over the letter P is the standard ISO 7010 no-parking form, the letter being the internationally recognised abbreviation for parking.
Where does it go and when is it required?
Placed in front of warehouse entrances and loading doors, along fire lanes and emergency exits, in front of hydrants and electrical panels, and in factory and mall yards where parked cars would block equipment or emergency vehicles.
Regulation notes: Civil Defense and occupational-safety rules in Saudi Arabia and the UAE require fire lanes, emergency exits and facility entrances to be kept clear and signed, and this is noted during inspection visits. In the UAE, OSHAD Code of Practice 17.0 requires Arabic to appear above English on safety signs.
- Mount at 1.8–2.2 m so it stays visible above parked vehicles.
- Use A3 in open yards and A4 inside covered car parks.
- Mark the restricted area with yellow or red floor lines beside the sign so its extent is not left to interpretation.
