Where is it used and when is it required?
Required at construction and excavation site gates, in warehouses worked by forklifts and pallet trucks, in maintenance workshops and truck loading bays, and in industrial kitchens and butchery areas where slippery floors meet heavy loads. Hang it at the entry point rather than inside the area.
Regulation notes
Civil Defense and occupational safety authorities in Saudi Arabia and the UAE expect PPE mandatory signage at site and warehouse entrances as a condition of construction permits and operating licences, and its absence is a recurring inspection finding. In the UAE, practice under the OSHAD Code of Practice 17.0 is for Arabic to sit above English on safety signs.
- Mount on the gate or at the entry checkpoint at eye level (1.5–1.7 m), not on a wall already inside the area.
- Use A3 at site gates and warehouse entrances, and A4 on workshop doors and internal corridors.
- Cover visitors too: keep loan boots in a range of sizes at reception, otherwise guests walk in wearing street shoes despite the sign.
