no refunds sign
A sign telling customers before they buy that the shop does not take goods back or refund them in ordinary cases, such as final clearance items and custom-made or personalised products. A clear policy before payment means fewer disputes at the till.
Where is it used and when is it required?
Placed at the till and beside final-sale tables in clothing, perfume, accessory and electronics shops, and in tailoring, printing and personalised-gift businesses whose products cannot be resold. It should be visible where the customer can read it before paying, not after.
Regulation notes
A No Refunds sign does not override statutory consumer rights: in Saudi Arabia, Ministry of Commerce rules oblige traders to accept returns or exchanges in cases such as defects or goods not matching their description within set periods, and in the UAE the Consumer Protection Law grants similar rights that cannot be waived by a notice. Use the sign to state your policy for ordinary cases only, and display your full returns policy near the till and on the receipt.
- Fix it on or behind the cashier counter at eye level (1.4–1.6 m) so it can be read while paying.
- A5 is enough at the till; use A4 beside final-sale tables.
- Keep Arabic above English, and use the business-name band for exceptions such as 'Exchange within 3 days with receipt'.
Size guide
Choose the size from the maximum distance the sign must be read from (ISO 3864-1 guidance).
Print tip: use card stock or mount on foam board/acrylic, and print the PDF at 100% (not “fit to page”).
